Men’s Health MOT’s are not just for the over 50’s

Men's Health MOT

It’s Men’s Health Week and the perfect time to tell you all about the Hope Spring Clinic Men's Health MOT. A comprehensive healthcare check-up, it is designed specifically for men with a focus on preventing and detecting common health issues early.

First and foremost it’s important to highlight that we all live in a highly toxic world, with an increased exposure to disruptive endocrine disruptors such as Bisphenol A (BPA). micro plastics and phthalate esters - in relation to the action of oestrogens, androgens, and thyroid hormones.

Concerns have been raised in clinical practice for adverse consequences, ranging from female and male reproductive health, thyroid dysfunction, metabolic alterations, brain development/function, immune responses, and development of cancers in hormone-sensitive tissues. To ensure ongoing health, we highly recommend, implementing health checks from the age of 25 upwards for all men. You can start with these three basic resolutions to get you started:

  1. Schedule Regular Health Check-Ups
A commitment to scheduling and attending annual health check-ups with your Naturopath, GP or a men's health specialist will go a long way to keeping you on track.

  2. Adopt a Balanced Diet and Exercise
Developing and maintaining a balanced diet (we particularly like the Mediterranean diet) and a regular weekly exercise routine will support overall health.

  3. Mental Health and Stress Management
Prioritise your mental health by incorporating stress management techniques into your daily routine. Be it walking, Tai Chi, meditation, mindfulness, massage - find your go to!

Integrating these resolutions into your life, you'll be taking proactive steps towards improving and maintaining overall health and well-being. Remember to regularly review and adjust your plans to ensure they remain effective and aligned with your goal.
